Mylind Fawcett for Cache County School Board

Mylind Fawcett is a father of five (all in Cache County School District) and works as an Agriculture Portfolio Manager at Zions Bank. He lives in Clarkston, Utah, and is focused on representing the families of Cache County as schools prepare the next generation for the future.

Mylind grew up in Henefer, Utah, and attended North Summit School District, where his father served on the board of education. He was a Sterling Scholar in Computer Technology, and he earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting (with a minor in Spanish) and a master's degree in Ag Systems Technology and Education from Utah State University.

He worked at USU for seven years as a contract and grant accountant and then as an auditor, giving him experience in governmental accounting and budgeting. He served on the Clarkston Town Council from 2020 to 2024 and as chair of the Clarkston Planning and Zoning Commission. Mylind and his wife, Heidi, moved to Clarkston in 2015, where they raise sheep and cattle. Six of his seven siblings work in public schools as teachers.

For several years, Mylind has also presented to students through the Teach Children to Save program sponsored by his employer.

Mylind shared The Herald Journal's story “High schoolers invited to shape AI policy in essay competition” as an example of giving students a real voice in school policy.

On September 30, 2026, Mylind announced that he has received the official support of the Cache County Republican Party. In his words:

“I am humbled to have received the official support of the Cache County GOP. While the school board is non-partisan and I will work with anyone who seeks to improve our children's education regardless of background or political affiliation, working with our state representatives and local officials is paramount to helping our schools succeed!”

On October 25, 2026, the Cache County Republican Party shared: “Cache County Republicans are proud to support Mylind for School Board District 7.” Mylind is also listed under “Candidates We Support” in the party's October 2026 newsletter.

Mylind works as an Agriculture Portfolio Manager at Zions Bank. That day-to-day work with agricultural borrowers and budgets gives him a practical window into the rural side of District 7, and into the careful stewardship people say they want from the school board.

It fits naturally with his campaign theme of Responsible Financial Leadership: understanding how dollars are managed, listening to local communities, and keeping classrooms and kids at the center of every decision.
